Breakfast at McDonalds for Keto

Keto Breakfast at McDonalds

In a fantasy world, you could eat fast food or any food all day long and never gain weight or get sick.

In the real world, you might want to take it easy on fast food. The quality is not there in most cases.

Also in the real world, you don’t always have time to make the perfect meal. In fact, you probably don’t have time for that a lot.

Fast food can be a life saver.

You can actually do pretty well at McDonalds, keto wise.

Their salad dressings are in the Star Wars category:  They need to stay far far away in another galaxy.  Don’t even look at them.

But they have the ingredients to make your own salad dressing with the dipping sauces. Order the  1 carb buffalo dipping sauce, and the 1 carb Ranch dipping sauce. Mix them together and you have instant salad dressing.

McDonalds sugar free coffee might be sugar free, but it  is not low carb, it is high carb. None of the coffee drinks are Keto approved. Get your coffee black and always remember to bring some truvia or stevia packets with you. Then you are always prepared to safely sweeten.

The McDonalds App

McDonalds has an App, which I highly recommend. The app is actually very good for ordering like this.  You are able to get the order exactly how you want it, without the order taker having a chance to get something wrong. It puts your order right into their system with all your substitutions exactly right.  Plus,  you can sometimes get a deal and save some money when you do breakfast at McDonalds for keto.

Here are things that are OK to eat.

Keto Biscuit without the biscuit.  I’ll admit, this one is pretty thin. Egg biscuit. It is a folded or fluffy egg. It has two grams of carbs, where the rounded egg only has 1 grams of carbs.

The best deal in this category is the Sausage Biscuit. You end up with a single sausage patty. It is 1 net carb, 190 calories for only a dollar.

Both come without cheese. You can add cheese, but remember that it will add one gram of carbs for each slice of cheese.

Bacon egg and cheese biscuit. You get a folded egg, bacon, and cheese. This is $4 and ends up at 3 net carbs and 180 calories.

Sausage egg and cheese biscuit. A folded egg, sausage patty, and cheese. It’s $4.40 and is 3 net carbs, 270 calories.

Don’t Forget the Egg McMuffin

Egg Mcmuffin: you will get a slice of canadian bacon, a rounded egg and cheese. it costs more, but the rounded egg gives more protein than the sausage mcmuffin. 3 net carbs for this.

Sausage McMuffin – order without the muffin. It will be just a sausage patty and a slice of cheese. It will only be about 2 net carbs and 260 calories.

Sausage Egg and Cheese McMuffin. A great deal for only $2. You get a Sausage Patty, cheese, and a rounded egg.  3 net carbs, 340 calories.

Bacon, Egg, and Cheese McGriddle. Ask for no pancakes. It is the exact same meal as the bacon egg and cheese Mcbiscuit. 3 net carbs, same price of $4.

The food is quite tasty and filling. Breakfast at McDonalds for keto can be great. You might actually like it.
