Fast Food Keto pt 2 – Egg Breakfasts
Many fast food restaurants have breakfast eggs. Maybe all of them for all I know.
This doesn’t mean they are all created equal. Depending on what is with the eggs, like a bun, these meals may not be keto friendly at all.
Eggs are basically fat and protein. They have a teeny amount of carbs, almost not worth mentioning. An average egg has less than a gram of carbs.
Here are some ideas on how to order your keto friendly breakfast on the run.
- Burger King Order the “Ultimate Breakfast Platter” without pancakes, hash browns or biscuit: 1 gram of carbs, 340 calories, 29 grams of fat, and 16 grams of protein.
- McDonald’s Big Breakfast without the biscuit or hash browns: 2 grams of carbs, 340 calories, 29 grams of fat, and 19 grams of protein.
- McDonald’s Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit without the biscuit: 4 grams of carbs, 190 calories, 13 grams of fat, and 14 grams of protein.
- Panera Bread Power Breakfast Bowl with steak, two eggs, avocado and tomato: 5 grams of carbs, 230 calories, 15 grams of fat, and 20 grams of protein.
If you are at a restaurant that will allow you to order whatever you want, order plain eggs with some sausage, bacon, and or cheese. This will keep you in keto.
Anyplace that serves omelets will work. Have them add some cheese and veggies to it for some variety.
It’s not so hard when you know what to do.
