Sleeping Equals Easy Keto

OK, maybe not ‘easy’, but a whole lot easier. Getting a good night’s sleep is not only good for you, it could make or break your keto diet.

Sleep is anti aging. Good sleep is a nuclear powered  anti aging weapon.

Part of what makes sleep anti aging is that it lets the hormones do their work. When the good hormones work, weight loss is a whole lot easier.

With the pandemic so much in the news, it turns out that the sleep hormone melatonin has been found to have immune system boosting properties!  The more you can get your body to secrete melatonin into the system, the better you will fight infections, including corona.

Around 10 pm every night, the body wants to load a bunch of good hormones, including melatonin,  into the system. But it can only load the good hormones if you are asleep.

It’s like a train leaving the station. The trains are only leaving the station between 10 pm and 2 am.

The earlier you catch a train, the longer you will be in the ‘anti aging’ part of the ride.

When the body is able to load the good hormones into your system, then the anti aging starts to happen.  Sleeping Equals Easy Keto

We Want Fewer ‘Bad’ Hormones, More Good Hormones

Also, when your body is able to load up the good hormones, you will generally have less ‘heavy’ hormones, like cortisol.  Cortisol does have a use to help you survive.

Cortisol is your ‘fight or flight’ hormone. If you open a door and there is a lion standing there in the room, you get that surge of weird fright through your body. That’s cortisol working. It tells adrenaline to start.

That process is to get your body to move away from the lion! That is so you will survive.

But if your body is producing cortisol all the time, when you don’t need it, it’s not good at all.

Continuous Cortisol creates a situation in the body that the body thinks it has to store FAT!

Yes, if you are having anxiety,  your body goes into weight gain mode.

I know, there are many causes of being anxious, but there’s one you can at least try to control.

Sleep.  Get enough, and get it during the right hours. 10 pm to 2 am.

Good Sleep Tips

Turn off TV a while before sleepy time because the light from the screen stimulates the brain.

Don’t eat for 4 hours before bed. You can’t sleep while your body is working. Digestion is a lot of work.

Try to take some deep breaths and calm yourself down, especially your mind.

Have the room DARK.  Not kind of dark, really dark. Like ‘no lighted clock radios’ dark.

Melatonin is the hormone that tells us to sleep, and it doesn’t come out until the lights go out.

Sleeping Equals Easy Keto. Sleep helps keto work, it’s as simple as that.

Happy Sleeping!  But more important, happy waking!
