Health Conditions That Keto Might Help You With
Most of us know the Keto diet for losing weight. Many also know about the health benefits beyond weight loss.
Keto is everywhere when people look for help with medical conditions that are seemingly hopeless.
That’s because many, if not all medical problems can be helped or hurt by what you eat.
I was sick for 11 years before we found out my problems were from eating Gluten.
In fact, the first thing I tell anyone with any health problem is to try a gluten free diet to see if it helps. Migraines anyone?
A gluten free diet is not dangerous or wild.
In fact keto is a gluten free diet.
You simply leave out grains….all grains. That means you can have animal protein (meats), vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. You can try it for 40 days and see what happens. It’s a simple way to eliminate gluten as the problem.
Here is a list of medical conditions that are being looked at for benefits of a keto diet. I am not claiming anything about them. I am passing along information. If any of these pertain to you, then talk to your doctor. Everyone is different, and all things don’t apply to all people.
Some are well known benefits of keto, like with epilepsy. Others are in early stages of study.
Here Are Some Health Conditions That Keto Might Help You With
1. Metabolic Syndrome
Also known as prediabetes. It is insulin resistance and makes it extremely hard to lose weight. Plus is leads to lots of other health problems.
2. Diabetes
Even if you have type 1 diabetes (the kind you are born with), controlling blood sugar levels is super helpful. The Keto diet does that as well as anything. If you have type 2 diabetes, keto can be incredibly healthful.
3. Some Cancers
Again, this is preliminary. Plain common sense would tell you that if your body is fighting cancer, it doesn’t need to be overcoming blood sugar overload. There are many studies ongoing.
My approach is, if your doctor doesn’t specifically tell you not to do keto, why not. It almost always improves blood chemistry. But always ask your doctor.
4. Autism
Again, there are ongoing studies on the topic. Knowing what I know about gluten in grains, and what it did to me, I wouldn’t be surprised if that is the main culprit here. Check with your doctors and see if they would have a problem with experimenting with the keto diet, or a modified version of it. They usually don’t care or know much about nutrition.
