Day three of our series on how to eat keto when you are out in the big wide world.

Panera Bread? No way! Right in the title is ‘bread’, it can’t be good. Sure it can, if you know what to ask for. And they have plenty of non keto food if you are in a group. They serve pastries, salads, sandwiches, soups, and coffees.
They have two items on their menu that will work great for your keto needs.
- The Power Breakfast Egg White Bowl with Turkey. This has spinach, bell peppers, egg whites, and basil. This combo gets you 25 grams of protein with 7 grams of total carbs.
- The Power Breakfast Egg Bowl with Steak. This features steak, avocado, two eggs, and tomato. This gives you 20 grams of protein with only 5 grams of carbs.
There are different theories of starting the day fasting, or starting the day with a high protein meal. They each have their own plusses and minuses.
Some studies show that a protein meal without the carbs can set up your insulin sensitivity to good levels for the day. Some think it reduces appetite for the day.
Others, like me, feel that my brain works better if I don’t eat until lunch.
You have to experiment to see what works for you.

Italian seems almost impossible to match with keto. But you probably just didn’t think of this.
Antipasto salad offers an easy, low carb way to eat out Italian. Especially when you are out with friends, or for business.
This is a salad that is traditionally presented as an appetizer.
It consists of assorted meats, cheeses, veggies, and olives. It is usually topped with an olive oil, maybe with vinaigrette, dressing.
But you can order a larger portion version as an entree. Just ask.
It’s a high protein and fat combo, with healthy, fiber based carbs around 10 grams.
Don't worry, keto is all around
Don’t be nervous about staying on Keto out in the big, wide, world. Keto at fast food restaurants is not a big deal. You are armed with knowledge. All there is to it, is to do it.
